GIS: Photo Interpretation & Remote Sensing

  In this final project, the student had to take provided data on Lake Tahoe and classify the land use, physical features such as mountain/forest altitude, amount of fine sediment in the water, and quality of water in the lakes. The student used the ERDAS Imagine software and the Supervised Classification and Band Ratios methods to classify this image. This can be used to explain how increased urbanization around Lake Tahoe has contributed to increased fine sediment erosion and thus worsening eutrophication over time by viewing how bad the water quality has gotten. 

In this project, the student had to make 8 unique signatures to classify the land use in Germantown, Maryland. With this, the program ERDAS IMAGINE 22 was used to complete this project.
